Personal Information Collection Statement

The data user is the individual operator (sole proprietor) of HKFinancePrep, based in Hong Kong, responsible for hkfinanceprep.com and the HKFinancePrep app. For PDPO access or correction requests, contact info@hkfinanceprep.com.

• Identity and contact data — name, email address, account ID, and authentication metadata collected through Clerk.
• Quiz and app activity — answers, scores, timestamps, selected chapters, saved questions (bookmarks), served-question history, topic performance, drill activity, and statistics.
• Payment and plan data — Golden Pass plan type, expiry date, checkout status, receipts, credits, renewal requests, Stripe identifiers, and payment confirmation. Full card details are processed by Stripe and not held by us. If you purchase through the App Store or Google Play, RevenueCat processes the purchase event and shares a transaction identifier and entitlement status with us so your Golden Pass can be activated; we do not see or hold your Apple ID, Google account, or full payment card details in that flow.
• Support and communications — information you send to us by email or other support channels.
• Technical and security data — device/browser data, IP address, user agent, logs, diagnostics, security events, and fraud-prevention signals generated by the app or our providers.
• Local device data — browser/app storage for preferences, quiz state, mock state, and offline question cache.

• Creating, authenticating, securing, and maintaining your account.
• Delivering and personalising quizzes, mock exams, drill features, saved questions, bookmarks, offline cache, and performance statistics.
• Processing Golden Pass payments, plan expiry, upgrades, credits, refunds, renewal requests, receipts, and payment disputes.
• Providing support, troubleshooting, service notices, security notices, and legal notices.
• Detecting, preventing, and investigating fraud, scraping, account sharing, abuse, security incidents, payment misuse, and Terms violations.
• Maintaining, improving, testing, debugging, and securing the service.
• Complying with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, platform, app-store, chargeback, and dispute obligations.

Personal data may be transferred, stored, or processed by the following categories of recipients for the purposes above:

Personal data may be processed outside Hong Kong. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and appropriate technical, organisational, and contractual safeguards. We do not sell personal data to advertisers.

Personal data is retained for as long as needed for the purposes above, including account operation, support, legal compliance, payment records, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, security, backups, and disputes. Account deletion removes app account data controlled by HKFinancePrep from active app systems (specifically including quiz history, saved bookmarks, and served-question records), subject to legal, provider, payment, fraud-prevention, accounting, tax, security, backup, support, and dispute retention requirements. Local device data may remain until you clear browser/app storage or reinstall the app.

We do not currently use personal data for third-party advertising or sell personal data. If we introduce direct marketing, newsletters, promotional email, retargeting, or similar uses, we will update our notices and obtain any consent or provide any opt-out required by law before using personal data for that purpose.

• Right of Access (s.18 PDPO) — you may request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
• Right of Correction (s.22 PDPO) — you may request correction of inaccurate personal data.
• To exercise these rights, email info@hkfinanceprep.com. We will respond within 40 days as required by law. A reasonable fee may be charged for access requests where permitted by the Ordinance.

Providing name, email, authentication data, and required payment/account information is necessary to create an account, use account features, purchase Golden Pass, and receive support. Quiz activity and technical data are generated through use of the service. Failure to provide required data may prevent account creation, paid access, support, or use of some features.

The service is intended for adults preparing for professional licensing examinations. We do not knowingly collect personal data from users under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided personal data.
