How to pass HKSI Paper 1: a seven-day plan
You need 70% to pass. This seven-day plan is HKFinancePrep editorial guidance — not an official HKSI plan, and it does not guarantee that you will pass — designed for a final focused week when you already have some grounding.

The principle: understand, don't memorise
Paper 1 rewards understanding how the rules fit together — which regulator does what, when a duty applies, what the consequence of a breach is. Memorising specific past questions is fragile because the exam rephrases the same concepts.
So the plan below spends most of its time on practice and error review, using each wrong answer to find the concept you have not yet understood.
| Day | Focus | Activity |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Baseline | Take a timed mock; record your weakest chapters |
| 2 | High-weight chapters | Review Chapters 4 and 5 concepts, then drill them |
| 3 | High-weight chapters | Review Chapters 3 and 6, then drill them |
| 4 | Mid-weight chapters | Work through Chapters 7, 8 and 9 |
| 5 | Foundations | Refresh Chapters 1 and 2; revisit earlier errors |
| 6 | Error review | Re-drill every question you got wrong this week |
| 7 | Rehearsal | Take a fresh timed mock; light review only, then rest |
