HKSI Paper 1 past papers and practice questions
Many candidates search for Paper 1 past papers. Here is what is officially available, why complete recent papers are limited, and how to practise effectively.

What the HKSI Institute provides
The HKSI Institute publishes sample practice tests and a past questions and answers section for the Licensing Examination. These are the authoritative starting point and are worth working through first — links are in the sources below.
They are samples, not a full recent paper, so they show you the style and standard of questions rather than a complete question set to memorise.
Why complete recent papers are limited
The Institute runs a large secured question bank and draws each candidate's paper from it, so full recent papers are not released. "Pass paper" files circulating online are risky: many are aligned to an older syllabus, and their answers are unverified — a confidently wrong answer key trains the wrong instinct.
Because Study Guide v3.5 applies to examinations from 30 June 2026, any practice material must reflect the current syllabus to be safe.
| Source | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Official sample tests | Seeing the real style and standard | Limited quantity; samples only |
| Circulated "pass paper" files | Nothing reliable | Often outdated syllabus and unverified answers |
| A maintained, explained question bank | Volume, coverage and learning from mistakes | Choose one kept current to v3.5 |
